Internet governance (IG) is the development and application by Governments, the private sector and civil society, in their respective roles, of shared principles, norms, rules, decision-making procedures, and programmes that shape the evolution and use of the Internet. Pakistan School on Internet Governance (pkSIG) was devised by a group of like-minded thinkers belonging to the Government and civil society in 2015. pkSIG holds the honour of being the first national School on Internet Governance in Asia-Pacific. It is an entirely volunteer effort, operating on non-profit basis with the generous support of national and international organizations.
