This Code of Conduct is applicable to the participants, organizers, speakers, suppliers, and any other person or group associated with pkSIG. The Code of Conduct outlines a set of principles to be followed for keeping up the values of learning and respect for each other.
This Code of Conduct is applicable to:
- All engaged with pkSIG are expected to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct at all times including at the pkSIG, whether virtual or physical, and social media.
- In the case of face-to-face meetings, local laws of the location of the event would be applicable to pkSIG for all participants. For international participants, local laws will prevail during their stay in the locality, in addition to laws that are already applicable to visiting foreign nationals such as visa-related laws.
According to this Code of Conduct:
- Participants are expected to act professionally and ethically at all times.
- During the school, participants will refrain from making any comments or engage in any actions that do not uphold diversity of gender, caste, creed, belief, religion, nationality, age or sexual orientation, or have covert or overt sexual connotations.
- Participants will work and act to build consensus during the meetings.
- Participants will respect the right to be heard and will allow the space to others to articulate their thoughts.
- Participants will respect the privacy of other participants in the use of data, text, images, videos and other material collected at pkSIG.
- Participants shall follow written and verbal guidelines issued by organizers, before and during the school, related to interactions in face-to-face or virtual meetings, or through discussions groups, messaging platforms, email, social media.
- Sharing of personal information of participants should only be done with the informed consent of participants.
- Any participant whose behaviour is found to be in violation of any of the above clauses, will be warned and subsequently removed from the session immediately and may be debarred from the rest of the program.
- In case anyone associated with pkSIG feels that the Code of Conduct has been violated, kindly bring it to the notice of the pkSIG Chair or Secretariat. Decision of the pkSIG Chair will be final and unchallengeable.
